What's in our camera bags // gear tour

Hi there friends!

We have gotten asked this question several times throughout our Hello Lovely existence so we thought we would address the very important issue. What’s in our camera bags? Spoiler alert we shoot different camera brands. *pause for dramatic effect. CRAZY we know!

Y’all have probably already seen our blog post on ‘Top 5 things in our bags’ If not feel free to check that out. In summary, we have you covered and carry kits that include: Scissors, bandaids, umbrellas, snacks and so much more! But we often get asked what equipment we actually capture you guys with. Today we are going through the technical equipment for those interested, with of course cute photos showing off our gear.

I know for some, this topic is important! Though we truly believe that the tools don’t make the artist, we thought we’d still give you a little glimpse into what we carry around on your big day.

Erin:
My main camera is a Canon 5D Mark IV (with a good ol’ battery grip!)
My Backup is a Canon 5D Mark II.
Cameron W600 Flash (We’re upgrading the flash this season!!)

My Lenses: (YEA WE LOVE PRIME!!)

Canon 50mm 1.4

Canon 85mm 1.8

Canon 28mm 1.8

Canon EF-12 Extension Tube AF

Just a COUPLE of memory cards & of course, batteries & chargers!

Jamie:
The main camera I shoot with is a Nikon D750 and I also have an emergency backup which is a Nikon D7200.
I also have several flashes (SB 800s.) for those dark reception moments.
As for lenses:

Nikon 24-120mmm 3.5-4.5

Nikon 35mm 1.8

Nikon 50mm 1.4

Nikon 60mm 2.8 (Macro)

Nikon 85mm 1.8

and approx 87 memory cards haha because memory cards are like chips you can’t only just have one. 

After reading this, I bet some of you are like.. WAIT WHAT, you shoot with different cameras? And we're here to tell you. The Nikon vs Canon rivalry is BS. Both brands are amazing- Jamie actually used to shoot Canon back in the day so there is no animosity towards any particular brand. We know how to use each other’s cameras (For the most part.) and have changed our editing to be seamless for our couples. Just check out our Instagram below, could you guess what camera took a specific photo? Probably not and that’s the way we like it.
